BEHIV is conducting a 60-day fundraising drive and we want you to be part of it! Our 60-Day Drive is a grassroots effort organized by BEHIV’s staff, Board of Directors and volunteers to obtain much-needed funding of BEHIV's programs and services. The drive will run from early June to early August. Multiple fundraising events and projects are being planned, including Government funding for HIV services has decreased and some foundations are shifting their attention to other areas of concern. Plus, even when government funding exists, it is often delayed. In tough economic times, people often decrease their charitable giving, just when it is needed more. Imagine the uncertainty facing our clients, who can’t obtain rental assistance or who have to travel longer distances to access health care. BEHIV has been there for our clients for 20 years and we hope our supporters and members of the community will be there for them too. Check back often for updates on events and milestones in the drive. Information will be available here and on BEHIV’s Facebook page.Check out coverage of the 60-Day Drive here, here, here and here. OFFICE CONSOLIDATION
BEHIV is working on plans for the remodeling of our office. The space will be larger and will include more comfortable, private rooms to conduct HIV/STI testing and consultations between case managers and clients, dedicated rooms for mental health counseling and space for public events. A client resource area, furnished with workstations, will also be a welcome addition to the new space. Additionally, the redesigned outdoor space will allow for special events and a relaxed support group meeting space.
For the first time in BEHIV’s history, we will occupy a space that is designed specifically for the needs of our clients. We are extremely excited about this project, especially in the current climate of decreased funding and increased need.
Our Administrative and Development staffs have moved to Chicago. This consolidation makes us more efficient and cuts our monthly expenses. There will be no changes in services offered to Evanston and the North Shore.
